Activists heckle Cuomo during school appearance over climate, corruption allegations

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was met with a chorus of hecklers during a campaign-style appearance in front of a school, with climate activists confronting him over his record on energy, education funding, and alleged misconduct.
In a video released by the group Climate Defiance, several protesters interrupted Cuomo as he attempted to speak to reporters outside the school. "No one wants you in our state. No one wants your running for office — you are a disgrace to public office," one activist shouted.
Another protester accused Cuomo of showing up without authorization. "The Department of Education has specifically said you don't have permission to be here! But once again Cuomo does something without consent — only this time it's in front of a school," the activist said.
Others targeted Cuomo's financial and political ties. "You take money from the Walmart family, the Murdochs, the CEO of Home Depot, Ken Griffin — you represent billionaires and oil interests, and that is it," one activist yelled.
Protesters also cited his environmental record and past controversies. "You want to talk about how you created a fracked gas pipeline in New York City? … You want to talk about the 13 sexual harassment campaigns?" another said.
A fifth protester accused Cuomo of cutting education funds. "Cuomo can't even pretend to care about his constituents after cutting $1 billion in school funding while giving his millionaire friends a tax break," they said.
The exchange grew tense as Cuomo's staff and security personnel attempted to move the activists away.
