'The 25th amendment was written with Donald Trump in mind': Ex-CIA chief Brennan

Former CIA director John Brennan has called for the removal of US President Donald Trump from office, saying, "This person is clearly unhinged," and adding, "I think the 25th amendment was written with Donald Trump in mind."
Brennan, who served under Barack Obama, made the remarks following comments by Trump on 7 April warning that Iran's "whole civilisation will die tonight" if his ultimatum was not met. Brennan interpreted the statement as raising the prospect of nuclear escalation, says the Guardian.
More than 70 Democrats in Congress have joined calls to invoke the Twenty-fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which provides for the removal of a president deemed "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office".
Despite the calls, the likelihood of removal remains "close to nil", according to the source, citing the continued loyalty of Vice President JD Vance and members of the cabinet.
Brennan's remarks come as he faces a criminal investigation by the US Department of Justice under Trump. Jim Jordan, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, said the probe was "heating up".
The developments coincide with the collapse of recent US-Iran peace talks, raising concerns about renewed tensions and the president's continued authority over the country's nuclear arsenal.
In related developments, Trump has also launched an attack on Pope Leo, calling him "weak" and "terrible", while Bernie Sanders warned that the "worst is yet to come" regarding the influence of billionaires. Cory Booker, meanwhile, said both political parties were "feckless" for ceding war powers to the president.
