Iran doesn’t seek to expand war with Israel but will respond ‘proportionately’: President Pezeshkian
Iran did not initiate this war, but it will respond in proportion to the level of the attack, he says

Tehran does not seek to "expand the circle of war" with Israel but will respond "in proportion" to any attack, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said.
Speaking during a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pezeshkian condemned Israeli strikes that he said had killed civilians, scientists, and military officials in Iran, CNN reports citing Iran's state news agency.
"Iran did not initiate this war, but it will respond in proportion to the level of the attack," Pezeshkian stated.
He also noted that Iran's willingness to engage in nuclear negotiations with the United States "depends solely on the cessation of the Zionist regime's attacks on regional countries."
According to Turkey's state-run news agency, President Erdogan told Pezeshkian that Ankara is prepared "to play a facilitating role to help de-escalate the conflict and support a return to nuclear negotiations."
