At least 30 military personnel, one Red Crescent staff member and two others were killed and 55 others injured in Israeli strikes on Iran's northeast province of East Azerbaijan on Friday, according to Iranian state media.

East Azerbaijan Governor Behram Sarmast told state television that Israel struck 19 locations across the province, mainly in the city of Tabriz.

Meanwhile, the state-run Press TV, citing the Red Crescent Society, said an Israeli attack hit an ambulance in Iran's province of Western Azerbaijan, killing two people.

No additional details about the strike could not be known.

Israeli forces attacked Iran early Friday, hitting nuclear and missile facilities and killing top military commanders and leading scientists, among others.

Iran responded with missiles Friday night, targeting several areas across Israel.
