Trump says Iran deal to be signed 'today', Vance on his way

US President Donald Trump has said a deal with Iran will be signed "today" in Pakistan, reports Al Jazeera.
He made the remarks today (20 April) while speaking to Fox News, adding to an earlier interview with the New York Post, where he told US Vice President JD Vance and other members of the US delegation were on their way to Islamabad for talks.
In the New York Post interview, Trump said he was ready to meet top Iranian leaders if a breakthrough is achieved.
He added that Vance, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and the rest of the US negotiating team were en route and expected to arrive in Islamabad within hours.
He further said the US was in talks with Iran and that, at this stage, he assumed no one was "playing games".
He also said the core demand in the negotiations is that Iran must give up possessing nuclear weapons.
