India offers visa extension to foreigners stranded due to US-Israel conflict with Iran
India today (1 March) has offered assistance to foreign nationals stranded in the country who had to change their travel plans amid the escalating US-Israel conflict with Iran and the broader security situation in West Asia.
In an advisory, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said all foreign nationals in India who need help with visa extensions or to regularize their stay due to the ongoing developments in the region are requested to contact the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
"The FRRO concerned will assist with the necessary formalities. For contact details of FRRO, you may visit https://boi.gov.in/," the MEA added.
The advisory comes as several countries have closed their airspaces and airlines have cancelled flights following the US-Israel joint strikes against Iran on Saturday, which have intensified tensions across the region.
