The Delhi High Court today (25 September) directed Meta to remove alleged morphed images of a woman alongside Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi within 24 hours.
The court also directed the Delhi Police to provide protection to the woman, who alleged that she had received threats and abusive messages following the circulation of the images.
It also issued notices to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das, Abhijit Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh over the woman's allegations that they circulated her morphed images alongside Modi on social media.

Justice Girish Kathpalia observed that this was an "extraordinary" matter as it concerned not only the woman but also the Indian prime minister.
"If the Delhi Police is not sensitive about it, the court will ensure it becomes sensitive," he said.
The woman has alleged that the four CJP leaders and their associates obtained her personal photograph without her consent and used AI face-swapping tools to superimpose her face onto a vulgar and compromising image alongside Modi.
She has also alleged that the images were circulated during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and subsequently shared on social media.
The allegations have not been established by the court. The court's directions came after the woman's plea was taken up for an urgent hearing.
The matter was mentioned before the bench by advocate Umesh Sharma, who said that an FIR had already been registered in connection with the incident.
