One farmer has died after a tractor allegedly  overturned during the Kisaan parade in Delhi, where farmers protesting against three agricultural laws enacted by the government in September last year.

However, some farmers  have claimed that he was shot.

The violence during the farmers' tractor rally took a serious turn when one of the protesters died. The incident took place at Minto Road in central Delhi on Tuesday afternoon.

The farmer's body was found crushed under a tractor, but the protesters allege that he was killed in police firing.

The farmers have kept the body wrapped in a national flag at the ITO intersection and are protesting. They claim that the tractor had overturned after police fired at it.

A group of protesters, meanwhile, entered the Red Fort on Tuesday afternoon and waved flags from the ramparts. A few of them even climbed on the poles installed in the premises and hoisted their flags.

The protesters, have been demonstrating at the borders of the national capital for the past two months seeking the removal of these laws.

Within a short span of time, the tractor parade took a violent turn as the protesters broke the police barricades which led to the latter firing tear gas at the farmers. Some of the farmers were also seen pushing the cement barricades through their bare hands. It was reported that the protesters were not abiding by the regulations of the parade which had been introduced earlier in order to ensure that the parade is carried out smoothly.

Meanwhile, farm union leader Rakesh Tikait told HT on Tuesday that the protesting farmers wanted to conduct a peaceful tractor parade in the national capital and added that the chaos happened due to confusion over routes.

Protesting farmers at the Karnal bypass broke police barricades to enter the national capital as the tractor rally is underway.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on Tuesday that the entry and exit gates of Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18/19, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Jahangir Puri, Adarsh Nagar, Azadpur, Model Town, GTB Nagar, Vishwavidyalaya, Vidhan Sabha and Civil Lines had been closed due to the ongoing chaos.

With the national capital and surrounding regions witnessing chaos amid the ongoing tractor rally, it was found that the protesting farmers were not following the rules of the parade which were earlier listed such as no deviation from the planned route, no use of loudspeakers, no waving of flags of any political party/outfit etc.
