Pakistan ranked safer than India in 2025 Global Safety Index
Andorra, a small European nation between Spain and France, secured the top spot with a safety score of 84.7

Pakistan has been ranked safer than India in the 2025 Global Safety Index, securing the 65th position, while India stands at 66th, according to the latest rankings by Numbeo.
The United States, notably, ranked lower than both South Asian nations at 89th, reports The Economic Times.
The index, which evaluates 146 nations, is based on crime perception surveys conducted by visitors to Numbeo's website.
It considers factors such as residents' feelings of safety during the day and night, risks of theft, physical attacks, harassment, and discrimination. Property-related crimes like burglary and vandalism, along with violent crimes including homicide and assault, were also factored in.
They then rated each nation on a scale of one (most dangerous) to 100 (safest).
Andorra, a small European nation between Spain and France, secured the top spot with a safety score of 84.7, followed closely by the United Arab Emirates (84.5), Qatar (84.2), Taiwan (82.9), and Oman (81.7).
Numbeo emphasised that its rankings are based on public perceptions rather than official government statistics. However, the index provides a comparative tool for assessing the relative safety of different countries, helping individuals make informed decisions.
