How much was Mamdani hurt by Trump's words?
U.S. President Donald Trump has relentlessly targeted Mamdani with one scathing remark after another. There is hardly any label he hasn't used—calling him crazy, a communist, and even an illegal immigrant. He also threatened to cut off federal funding. Trump insists that communists never do well, and therefore, Mamdani will fail too. According to him, any progress in New York will happen because of the city itself, not because of Mamdani.
