Half of ADB funds in Bangladesh still unused
In Bangladesh, nearly half of the allocated funds have not been spent due to slow implementation and administrative complications in ADB-financed projects. Sectoral disparities in the distribution of funds are evident; the energy sector lags the most and the agriculture sector lags the most in percentage terms. The bank says approval delays, complications and poor planning are the main reasons for this situation.
