Drinking water crisis along Khulna's coast
Dakop Upazila of Khulna is a coastal area adjacent to the Sundarbans in the southwestern region. Surrounded by rivers, the people of the upazila face a severe shortage of drinking water throughout the year. A UNDP survey says that 73 percent of the people of these five coastal upazilas of Khulna have to drink unsafe saline water.
