How is Topamari Dighi in Kurigram?

Gorai village in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram district. On one side is a verdant green area, on the other is a vast body of calm water. Although its name is 'Topamari Dighi' in official documents, it is better known to the locals as 'Zia Pukur'. But why this name? History says that this pond was dug by combining sections of the pond under the Kabikha project between 1975 and 1980.
