Dhaka's air remains polluted even after rain, pollution levels highest in seven areas
Although it rained in Dhaka on October 29 due to the impact of Cyclone Monthar, the air quality did not change much. According to IQAir data this Thursday morning, Dhaka is ranked fifth among 125 cities in the world, with an average air quality of 160, which is unhealthy. The most polluted areas are Becharam Deuri and South Pallabi (AQI 170) in Old Dhaka. Experts say that the average life expectancy of people in Bangladesh is decreasing by five and a half years due to air pollution. The EPIC report has called Bangladesh the most polluted country in the world.
