After the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and repeated bombings in Tehran, the White House believed Iran would quickly surrender. However, the battlefield tells a different story. Lost in the dream of a "swift victory," Trump now appears to be sinking into the quicksand of a prolonged war.
