Is Real ID USA security or immigration confusion?
Starting May 7, 2025, a new type of government-issued identification card, "Real ID," will be mandatory for every citizen and resident over the age of 18 to travel on domestic flights in the United States. However, as this law takes effect, concerns are growing among the country's 13.5 million non-citizens, especially green card holders, student and work visa holders, and asylum-seeking immigrants.
