Realme’s new ‘chameleon’ phone changes colours with temperature

In a crowded smartphone market, Realme has taken a bold step to stand out with its 14 Pro series. Instead of focusing solely on camera innovations, the company introduced the world's first cold-sensitive colour-changing back panel.

This unique design was created in partnership with Valeur Designers, a Nordic industrial design studio led by Torsten Valeur. Known for his long-standing collaboration with Bang & Olufsen, Valeur helped Realme redefine smartphone aesthetics. The 14 Pro series was fittingly unveiled in Copenhagen, a city renowned for its design heritage.

The phone's back features a unique pearl texture that changes colour with temperature. Realme did not just pick the name "Pearl White" for its appeal; they used actual seashell pearl powder mixed with microcapsules containing special colour-changing pigments. This mixture is not uniform, making each phone's back panel one of a kind.

This innovation is paired with a seamless quad-curved display, boasting an impressive 93.8% screen-to-body ratio. It is the most seamless display ever on a Realme device. The phone also boasts an IP68 rating for submersion and an IP69 rating for withstanding hot water jets.

Adding to the premium feel is the triple flash camera system, a first in the industry. Along with the innovative design, the camera setup ensures that the 14 Pro series is as functional as it is eye-catching.
