Inter-operable digital transaction platform to be launched to curb irregularities: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak has said an inter-operable digital transaction platform (IDTP) will be launched to prevent irregularities, costs, and harassment in financial transactions.

He said the people of the country would be brought online through the provision of digital services to ensure transparency and accountability in the administrative system.

Palak was speaking at a programme at the BCC auditorium at the ICT Tower in the capital's Agargaon on Sunday.

The ICT department tops public offices among all ministries or departments in terms of annual performance. The programme was arranged to celebrate the achievement.

Speaking as the chief guest at the programme, Palak said this achievement of the ICT department in public service would inspire them to do more to achieve the goal of building a digital Bangladesh.

The main target of digital Bangladesh is to bring all government services to the people through the best use of information technology, the state minister added.

He further said, "For the overall development of the country's technology sector and making the young generation proficient in information technology, the government is working on four pillars – human resource development, industry promotion, e-governance and connectivity up to the grassroots."

NM Ziaul Alam, senior secretary to the ICT department, presented the keynote.

Hosne Ara Begum, managing director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Parthapratim Dev, executive director at Bangladesh Computer Council, ABM Arshad Hossain, director general of the ICT department, and other senior officials of the department were present on the occasion among others.
