Insta360 Go Ultra: Tiny, yet packing a punch
The successor of the mighty Insta360 Go 3 arrives with a refreshed design and some major improvements for serious content creators
What if the smallest camera in your pocket could rival the power of larger action cams? Insta360 believes it can.
With the launch of the new Go Ultra, the company has reimagined its signature miniature camera. The new one comes with a design and performance leap that could tempt both adventurers and everyday creators.
Gone is the familiar pill-shaped look; the Go Ultra arrives with a rounded square body and an offset lens. It is slightly heavier than its predecessor, yet still far lighter than most action cameras on the market.
Measuring only 1.8 inches per side, it remains pocket-sized but now houses a far larger 1/1.28-inch sensor. This is more than double the size of the Go 3's sensor and promises sharper, brighter footage, even in difficult light.
The Go Ultra records at 4K/60fps, a major step up from the 30fps cap of the earlier Go 3. A new AI-powered PureVideo mode further enhances low-light shots. For those who enjoy slow motion, the camera can reach 240fps at 1080p. The improvements make it versatile enough for vlogging, sports or travel.
Battery life also receives a boost. The built-in 500mAh battery allows up to 70 minutes of shooting, according to AndroidAuthority. Paired with the Action Pod, it stretches to 200 minutes. Fast charging means 80% power in just 12 minutes. Unlike previous models, the Go Ultra supports removable microSD cards up to 2TB, giving users flexibility without worrying about built-in storage limits.
Priced at $450, or $500 with a Creator Bundle that includes mounts and a mini tripod, the Go Ultra is available in midnight black and arctic white. It is still waterproof to 33 feet depth, and its magnetic back and accessories make it wearable or mountable almost anywhere. For creators seeking portability without losing quality, this tiny square could be a great choice.
