Gemini AI can now turn your kid’s drawing into a storybook
The new Storybook feature can instantly write a 10-page storybook, almost on anything, that you can download and print. And it works even in Bangla!

Imagine tucking your child into bed and handing them a freshly illustrated book, crafted in minutes from your own idea — or that of your kid's. With Gemini and your imagination, that moment has arrived.
Google has rolled out a tool called Storybook inside its Gemini AI chatbot. The idea is simple. Describe a story, and Gemini will turn it into a 10-page illustrated book, complete with an audio narration. The images can mimic styles ranging from claymation to anime, and you can even upload your own photos or a child's sketch to guide the story.
On paper, it sounds like magic. In practice, it is more of a mixed bag. We asked Gemini to write a storybook in Bangla suitable for a 10-year-old girl about an adventurous child, and that one turned out great. The illustrations were on point, and the story was engaging enough for a 10-year-old to enjoy.
But the results are not always so smooth. Another attempt produced spaghetti sauce splattered across a page like a cartoon crime scene. Even Google's own promotional video showed a slip — a woman tightening bolts on a spaceship with a wrench while making "tap, tap, tap" noises at a tool that made no sense.
Despite these quirks, the feature is undeniably fun. A parent could ask Gemini to explain the solar system to a five-year-old or create a tale about an elephant learning kindness. The app also supports over 45 languages, including Bangla, which makes it useful beyond English-speaking families.
The feature is available globally on desktop and mobile.
