Tamim reaches two milestones against Zimbabwe
One was he reached 13,000 runs in international cricket. The other was him surpassing Shakib Al Hasan as the highest run-scorer in Tests at home.
Donald Tiripano's ripper took a feather edge from Tamim's bat and went to the keeper. Even before the umpire raised his finger, Tamim started walking. But as he walked off after scoring 41, he had already made two new records.
One was he reached 13,000 runs in international cricket. The other was him surpassing Shakib Al Hasan as the highest run-scorer in Tests at home.
Before the match, Tamim required 27 runs to become the first Bangladeshi batsman and 50th overall to reach 13,000 runs landmark. And with some fantastic shot-play, he achieved that. His 41-run innings might disappoint a bulk of fans because Tamim looked in form but the innings surely showed signs of the left-handed batsman returning to form.

His 41 runs also made him the highest run-scorer for Bangladesh at home. Till this match, Shakib was the leading run-scorer at home for Bangladesh with 2,477 runs. And Tamim now has 2,517 runs and has another record in his bag.
Despite all these pleasant records, a bitter one waits for the Bangladesh stalwart. Tamim has 32 ducks till date for Bangladesh in international cricket and sits second on the list. Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza sits top with 33 ducks and Tamim only needs one to share the unwanted throne.
