Tamim, Mushfiq, and Mahmudullah hailed as role models by  BCB President on Sports Day

BCB President Faruque Ahmed highlighted the importance of role models in sports, praising players like Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah Riyad as inspirations for the younger generation.

Speaking at a rally organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Dhaka to mark National and International Sports Day, Faruque said, "Players like Tamim, Mushfiqur, and Mahmudullah have become role models. When people see them, they think, 'I could have been like them.'"

The BCB President, along with Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan and other notable guests, attended a friendly football match at the National Stadium, featuring underprivileged children. Reflecting on his childhood, Faruque shared, "When I was young, I would eagerly look forward to the time between 4 to 6 pm. Education was important, but sports were just as vital for everyone."

He urged everyone to focus on overcoming the challenges in sports, saying, "It's not just for those in the sports departments, but for everyone. I hope the enthusiasm we feel today will continue throughout the year and that we'll see this reflected in our sporting efforts."
