Tamim Iqbal discharged from hospital, begins long recovery at home
While he is no longer at significant risk, he will need to rest for an extended period at home and follow his doctors' advice carefully.

Tamim Iqbal has been discharged from Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, four days after undergoing a procedure to have a stent placed in his heart.
While he is no longer at significant risk, he will need to rest for an extended period at home and follow his doctors' advice carefully.
The former Bangladesh captain returned home on 28 March after being under observation. However, he will have to visit the hospital again on 29 March for further tests and dental treatment. Despite being back home, he must remain in constant contact with his medical team.
Tamim suffered a massive heart attack on 24 March during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at BKSP, where he was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club. He left the field after experiencing chest pain and was initially taken to KPJ Hospital in Savar for treatment. While preparing to be airlifted to Dhaka, his condition worsened, and he lost consciousness, prompting an emergency return to the same hospital. He was quickly stabilised, and a stent was placed in his heart. Swift action from Mohammedan's trainer and the hospital doctors ultimately saved his life.
On 26 March, Tamim was transferred to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for further observation. The following day, doctors confirmed in a press conference that he was recovering well but would need to make significant lifestyle changes.
Although Tamim has now returned home, his future in cricket remains uncertain. Doctors have indicated that a medical board will assess his condition in three to four months before making any decisions about his return to the game.
Having retired from international cricket, Tamim has remained active in domestic competitions. He led Fortune Barishal to consecutive Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) titles and was playing for Mohammedan in this year's DPL before his sudden health scare. What is certain is that he will not be able to take part in the remainder of this season.
