Shanto completes twin centuries in Galle Test
Shanto, who scored 148 in the first innings, reached his seventh Test century with a single via a reverse sweep off Tharindu Rathnayake.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto brought up his second century of the match as the visitors reached 259 for 6 in their second innings, leading Sri Lanka by 269 runs with 41 overs remaining on the fifth and final day of the first Test in Galle today.
Shanto, who scored 148 in the first innings, reached his seventh Test century with a single via a reverse sweep off Tharindu Rathnayake.
With this feat, Shanto becomes the first Bangladeshi captain to score centuries in both innings of a Test match. He had previously scored twin tons in a Test against Afghanistan in Dhaka in 2023, though he was not skipper at the time.
Earlier in the day, following a three-hour rain delay, Bangladesh lost Litton Das (3) and Jaker Ali (2) cheaply. Nayeem Hasan (5*) is currently at the crease alongside Shanto.
