Shakib reaches coveted 600 World Cup runs

The record for the most number of runs in a World Cup edition is by India’s Sachin Tendulkar who scored 673 runs in the 2003 World Cup, where India reached the final.

Australia’s Matthew Hayden is in the second spot with 659 runs, which he scored in the 2007 World Cup, where Australia won.
Shakib though, has scored these runs in just eight innings with an average of 86.57 whereas Tendulkar and Hayden played 11 and 10 innings and have lower averages of 61.18 and 73.22 respectively.
Shakib is the only player in World Cup history to have taken 10-plus wickets and scored 500-plus runs.
