Coronavirus had cricket locked up for almost five months. But finally, the stalemate ended as cricketers started individual training. Also, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is thinking of resuming group training. And Sabbir Rahman is invigorated by the idea of cricket returning.

Sabbir has taken part in the individual training since Saturday. On Sunday, Sabbir did some batting, running and gym work. Sabbir was enthralled to return to the field. He could not put into words how it felt to return to his well-known Mirpur stadium.

"I have come to the stadium after almost five months. I can not express my emotions, I am feeling very good. I did some batting and I am following the instructions given by BCB. One after another is a very good facility for training. Everyone is punctual," Sabbir said.

The situation is returning to normal and Bangladesh is likely to return to cricket with their tour of Sri Lanka. The idea of this tour has left Sabbir enlivened.

"If everything stays well in our country, we will play international cricket soon. We are all very desperate to play. We have trained ourselves to keep us fit and do something well. I hope that we will do something good once play resumes," Sabbir added.

Sabbir added, "International and domestic cricket is off for quite some time now. Every player is looking forward to cricket resuming. At times, frustration has also crossed our minds. When England-Pakistan or West Indies played, I felt really good. At least cricket has returned."

Sabbir has worked on his own at Rajshahi during this lockdown. The right-handed batsman said, "I did not get much practice facilities because of the pandemic. I worked on my fitness at home. Then I took the benefit of the indoor at Rajshahi. Also I was able to use the Clemon gymnasium. I worked there alone at the evening or night."
