Netherlands 103 all out in second T20I – Bangladesh dominate with the ball
The Netherlands struggled right from the outset, with only three players managing to reach double figures.
Bangladesh delivered a clinical bowling performance to dismiss the Netherlands for just 103 in 17.3 overs in their T20 World Cup clash. After winning the toss and electing to field, the Bangladeshi bowlers made the most of a helpful surface, striking regularly and never allowing the Dutch batters to settle.
The Netherlands struggled right from the outset, with only three players managing to reach double figures. The top-order crumbled under pressure, and it was number nine batter Aryan Dutt who offered the most resistance. He played a spirited knock of 30, which turned out to be the highest score for his side. Vikramjit Singh contributed 24 at the top of the order, while Shariz Ahmad chipped in with 12.
At one stage, the Dutch were reeling at 81 for 9, and it seemed they might not cross the 100-run mark. Thanks to Dutt's efforts, they eventually reached 103 before being bowled out in the 18th over.
Bangladesh's bowlers shared the spoils effectively. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed led the way with figures of 3 for 21, while Mustafizur Rahman (2 for 18) and Taskin Ahmed (2 for 22) provided excellent support. Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mehidy Hasan Miraz chipped in with one wicket each. Despite being the most expensive bowler, Mehidy maintained control, conceding 24 runs in his 3.3 overs.
Bangladesh will now look to chase down the modest target of 104 and continue their push in the tournament with a much-needed win.
