Najmul XI beat Mahmudullah XI by a massive 131 runs in the fourth match of the BCB President's Cup. With this win, Najmul XI now sit on top with two wins from their three matches.

Mahmudullah XI had to chase down 265 runs to win against their opponent whom they had lost to a few days back. They never really seemed to be in the race before finally getting all-out for 133 in 32.1 overs.

Disastrous batting once again

Mahmudullah XI had a disastrous batting show against the same opponent last Sunday where they were all-out for 196 runs before eventually losing the match by 4 wickets.

Batsmen seemed clueless against the bowlers. Only Liton Das and Nurul Hasan Sohan scored more than twenty runs. Others were stuck between attacking and defending, and eventually getting nowhere.

Skipper Mahmudullah Riyad and Mehidy Hasan Miraz started off well only to get out after what looked to be a promising start.

Just another day at the office for bowlers

Bowlers once again dominated the play. This time, spinners and pacers shared wickets among themselves to restrict Mahmudullah XI to 133 runs.

Spinner Nasum Ahmed, who played his first game today, picked up 3 wickets for 23 runs from his 8 overs. Pacer Abu Jayed Rahi also bagged three for himself.

Leg spinner Rishad took two while Al-Amin picked up one. Taskin Ahmed, who has been in brilliant form, remained wicketless.

Monumental partnership between Afif and Mushfiqur guided by Sukkur's late flourish

Earlier, Mushfiqur Rahim and Afif Hossain Dhrubo's partnership of 157 runs helped Najmul XI put on a commendable total of 264 runs. Afif got run out on 98 before Mushfiq bagged 52 runs following a brilliant hundred in the previous match.

Najmul XI, after excellent rebuilding done by Afif and Mushfiqur, were in a spot of bother again after the latter got out. But Irfan Sukkur and Towhid Hridoy, the pair that got Najmul XI over the line against the same opposition, came to rescue again. Sukkur took the attack to the opposition and scored an unbeaten 48 off only 31 balls with four fours and two sixes. He was ably supported by Towhid Hridoy, who chipped in with 27 off 29. Najmul XI scored 77 off the last ten overs to post a total of 264 for eight.

Rubel Hossain bowled exceedingly well and picked up three conceding 53 runs. Ebadot Hossain picked up a couple while Sumon Khan got one. The spinners- Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Rakibul Hasan went wicketless.

Mahmudullah XI will play their last group match against Tamim XI on Monday, where they must win to keep their hopes alive for the final. Najmul XI on the other hand, have somewhat confirmed their place in the final after today's win.
