Salah’s assist for Luis Diaz’s opening goal pushed his tally to an impressive 45 goal contributions this season, comprising 27 goals and 18 assists, surpassing the previous record held by the legendary Thierry Henry.

It was a dramatic Sunday in the Premier League, with Liverpool continuing their charge towards a second league title, while Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both suffered disappointing results.
Liverpool leave it late against West Ham as Salah sets Premier League record
Liverpool managed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over West Ham United at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah breaking the record for the most goal involvements in a 38-game Premier League season. Salah's assist for Luis Diaz's opening goal pushed his tally to an impressive 45 goal contributions this season, comprising 27 goals and 18 assists, surpassing the previous record held by the legendary Thierry Henry.
The match saw Liverpool take an early lead before West Ham equalised late in the 86th minute, courtesy of an own goal by Andy Robertson. However, the drama continued when Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, who was marking his 100th game as captain, rose to head in the winner just three minutes later, securing all three points for the Reds in front of the Kop.
The result left Liverpool with a commanding 13-point lead over second-placed Arsenal, who still have a game in hand. Klopp's side now sit just two wins away from clinching their second Premier League title. Despite not scoring in his last five games, Salah's key assist and his overall contribution once again underlined his importance to the team as they inch closer to glory.
Following the match, Van Dijk, who was also pivotal in defence, expressed his pride in captaining his 100th game, and hinted at the possibility of renewing his contract with the club, which is set to expire at the end of the season.
Chelsea's Champions League hopes falter with Ipswich draw
Chelsea's hopes of securing Champions League football next season took a hit after they were held to a 2-2 draw by relegation-threatened Ipswich Town at Stamford Bridge. The Blues were stunned by Ipswich, who stormed into a 2-0 lead after 31 minutes, despite Chelsea controlling much of the early possession.
Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson were the architects of Ipswich's shock lead, with Enciso scoring in the 19th minute and later setting up Johnson for a header in the 31st. Chelsea were left frustrated as they struggled to find the breakthrough, prompting boos from the home fans at halftime.
However, Chelsea responded early in the second half. An own goal by Ipswich defender Axel Tuanzebe gifted the Blues a lifeline, before substitute Jadon Sancho curled in a fine shot from outside the box in the 79th minute to level the score.
The match's final minutes saw Ipswich goalkeeper Alex Palmer come to his side's rescue with a series of crucial saves, denying Trevoh Chalobah, Enzo Fernandez, and Cole Palmer from close range. The draw left Chelsea in 5th place, holding the final Champions League spot by just a single point over Newcastle United, who have a game in hand.
With tough fixtures ahead, including matches against Liverpool and Newcastle, manager Enzo Maresca will be hoping for a dramatic improvement in his team's form to secure European football for next season.
Tottenham's errors lead to defeat at Wolves, deepening Postecoglou's crisis
Tottenham Hotspur's season continued to unravel with a 4-2 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers, their fourth defeat in six Premier League matches. The result left Spurs in 15th place, just two points ahead of Wolves, who have now eased their relegation fears with the win.
Tottenham's defence was at fault for all four goals, with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario's poor clearance leading to Rayan Ait-Nouri's opener just 85 seconds into the match. Things worsened for Spurs when another error from Vicario, who parried a shot onto defender Djed Spence, resulted in an own goal just before the break.
Spurs did pull one goal back through Mathys Tel in the 59th minute, but their hopes of a comeback were dashed five minutes later when Cristian Romero's mistake allowed Ait-Nouri to set up Jorgen Strand Larsen for an easy tap-in.
Richarlison pulled another goal back in the 85th minute, but Spurs' defensive mistakes continued to haunt them, as Lucas Bergvall's giveaway allowed Matheus Cunha to seal the win for Wolves.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou admitted that his side's inability to defend properly was the main reason for their downfall. He expressed frustration over their lack of composure, saying, "We just kept conceding really poor goals." With their form spiralling and the pressure mounting, Postecoglou faces a critical week ahead, including the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final.
