Khulna Tigers have beaten Rangpur Rangers by eight wickets in their match in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 2019 at Chattogram.

Batting first, Rangpur lost wickets in regular intervals and somehow scrambled to 137-9. In reply, Khulna lost opener Nazmul Hossain Shanto early but the other batsmen ensured that they reached the target easily.

Shafiul Islam was adjudged man of the match for his three wickets.

Chasing 138, lost opener Shanto in the third over for only one, but a 61-run partnership between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Rilee Rossouw made sure that the match was in their hands. After Gurbaz's dismissal for 37, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim ensured with Rossouw that they reached the target with 45 deliveries remaining.

Earlier, winning the toss, Khulna Tigers skipper Mushfiqur Rahim invited Rangpur Rangers to bat first.

Batting first, Rangpur Rangers lost wickets on a regular basis and never got out of their tracks. Naim Sheikh continued on his merry way as he scored 49, but was run out as his team lost their fourth wicket.

Fazle Mahmud, along with Lewis Gregory, tried to accelerate but some quality death bowling from the Khulna bowlers led them to lose a flurry of wickets at the ending overs. They finally ended on 137-9.

Naim top-scored for Rangpur with 49 with Fazle scoring 42. Shafiul Islam picked up three wickets with Mohammad Amir and Shahidul Islam picking up two wickets each.
