India's tour of Bangladesh likely to be postponed over security concerns

The Indian men's cricket team's upcoming tour of Bangladesh, scheduled for next month, is likely to be postponed due to concerns over the security situation in the neighbouring country, according to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI) on Friday.
India were due to play tnhree Oe Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals between 17 and 31 August, with matches planned in Dhaka and Chattogram. The series is part of the ICC's Future Tours Programme (FTP).
"Apparently, the BCCI is wary of the security situation in Bangladesh following the recent civil unrest," PTI reported, citing sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
However, it is understood that the tour will not be cancelled entirely, but rather postponed to a later date — most likely in 2026.
According to the report, the BCCI prefers to reschedule the series for a time after Bangladesh's general elections, when an elected government is in place, to ensure a stable law and order situation that would meet the board's security expectations.
