Gayle not a fan of 4-day Test matches
Gayle, who is more known for his credentials in the shortest format of the game, has said that he is not a fan of four-day Test matches and thinks that five-day matches are the ultimate version of the game.

A lot of talks have been going on about 4-day Test matches. Many boards are thinking of it and so are the International Cricket Council (ICC) but many players have refuted against the idea and Chris Gayle is the latest name on that list including the likes of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.
Gayle, who is more known for his credentials in the shortest format of the game, has said that he is not a fan of four-day Test matches and thinks that five-day matches are the ultimate version of the game.
"I am not a fan of that, to be honest. I have played over 100 Test matches. Few finished in 3 days, few finished in 4 days but you know that 5 days Test cricket is the ultimate. I am not a big fan of 4 days test match. It has been there for ages. It is the trend to play for 5 days. Why go and mess it? Give the players the opportunity to experience 5 days Test cricket as well. It's a life-changing experience to play 5-day Test matches," the Caribbean batsman said.
Chris Gayle is playing for Chattogram Challengers in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 2019-20 and till now has played only one match after joining them this month.
