Four silvers from Golf

The other silver medals of the day came from the shooting and weightlifting event.

Four silvers from Golf

Bangladesh have thus far won six silvers and couple of bronze medals in the sixth day of the South Asian (SA) Games in Kathmandu, Nepal. 

A flurry of silvers in golf

Bangladesh have won silver in all the events of Golf. 

Mohammad Farhad won silver in the men's single event, where he scored 282 to come second. Nepal won both the gold and the bronze with a score of 274 and 284 respectively.

In the men's team event, the Bangladesh team consisting of Mohammad Farhad, Mohammad Samrat, Mohammad Shahabuddin and Mohammad Shafiq won the silver with a score of 856. Nepal won the gold with a score of 836 whereas Sri Lanka won the bronze with a score of 878.

In the women's single event, Zakia Sultana won the silver with a score of 317 whereas Sri Lanka won both the gold and the bronze. 

The women's team event also brought silver as the Bangladesh team of Zakia Sultana, Nasima Akter and Sonia Akter ended up on a score of 639. Sri Lanka won the gold in this discipline whereas Nepal won the bronze.

Silver in shooting

Ardina Ferdous Akhi has won silver in the 10m Air Pistol event on the sixth day of the SA Games.

The gold and bronze went to India and Pakistan respectively. 

Earlier, Bangladesh had won bronze in the team event of 10m Air Pistol event.

Women's kabaddi brings bronze

Bangladesh won their first medal of the day in women's Kabaddi when they beat Sri Lanka by the margin of 17-16. 

Bangladesh were ahead by 9-7 in the first half and managed to cling on to that lead to secure bronze.

India and Nepal will fight for gold in the same event tomorrow.

Two silvers in weightlifting

Shakhawat Hossain has won the silver in the men's 89kg event of weightlifting. 

He lifted a combined weight of 268 kg, which included 123 kg in snatch and 145 kg in clean and jerk.

Nepal's Bikash Thapa won the gold in this event.

Also, Rokeya Sultana Shathi has won silver in 71 kg event of weightlifting in Pokhara. 

Shathi lifted a combined weight of 155 kg, which included 70 kg in snatch and 85 kg in clean and jerk.

India's Manpreet Kaur lifted gold in this event and the bronze went to Nepal's Laxmi Thapa.
