ECB to face 182 million pounds loss
A loss of 182 million pounds is staring at the ECB. According to The Guardian, if they can do things according to the plan, they will still have to face a loss of 106 million pounds.
Had no cricket been played in the ongoing summer, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) would've faced a huge financial loss. In order to make up the loss, they hosted a three-match Test series despite the current Covid-19 situation. Pakistan are touring England now and the ECB is hopeful of the upcoming series against Australia as well.
But still, they couldn't do enough to make up the losses completely. A loss of 182 million pounds is staring at the ECB. According to The Guardian, if they can do things according to the plan, they will still have to face a loss of 106 million pounds.
ECB held a meeting with the county boards in order to estimate the possible profits and losses on Wednesday. After the discussion, they informed that the amount of loss could've been as much as 400 million pounds if there had been no play this summer.
