Cristiano Ronaldo scores stunning volley to secure Al-Nassr comeback and keep title hopes alive

Cristiano Ronaldo was the driving force behind Al-Nassr's dramatic comeback win over Al-Riyadh, scoring a sensational brace to keep his team in the hunt for the Saudi Pro League title.

After a challenging first half, where Al-Riyadh took the lead, Ronaldo turned the game around in the second half, scoring twice to extend his remarkable goal-scoring run and reach 933 goals in professional football.

Al-Riyadh's Faiz Selemani opened the scoring in the dying moments of the first half, capitalising on a rebound to give his side a 1-0 lead. However, Ronaldo took matters into his own hands in the second half, delivering an exceptional performance. In the 56th minute, he converted a tap-in after a brilliant assist from former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane, drawing the game level at 1-1.

Just eight minutes later, the 40-year-old struck again, this time with a spectacular volley that flew into the top corner, putting Al-Nassr ahead 2-1. The goal was a world-class finish that highlighted Ronaldo's continued class and composure in front of goal.

With the win, Al-Nassr remain third in the SPL standings, just one point behind Al-Hilal and eight behind leaders Al-Ittihad. Ronaldo has been in exceptional form this season, having scored 32 goals and provided 4 assists, playing a crucial role in his team's pursuit of the title.

Ronaldo reflects on his milestone achievements

As he continues to climb the all-time goal-scoring charts, Ronaldo is on the brink of reaching the incredible milestone of 1,000 career goals. However, the Portuguese forward has insisted that he is not obsessing over the number.

"Let's enjoy the moment... I'm not chasing 1,000 goals as an obsession," Ronaldo said after the match. "If it happens, perfect. If it doesn't happen, it's okay."

Ronaldo, who recently turned 40, expressed his focus on the present rather than future milestones. He believes that the current moment and his achievements are what matter most.

"The moment is the most special thing — not what's going to come. Guys, let's enjoy the present for now," he added.

Acknowledging that he is in the latter stages of his illustrious career, Ronaldo explained that he wants to take things step by step. He stressed the importance of enjoying each moment, as he continues to compete at the highest level.

"Records and having a certain number of goals, like 70 or 69, that's good, yes. But now, in the last years of my career, I have to take advantage of the moment... and enjoy it. I want to continue like this, step by step and championship after championship," he concluded
