Over 250 high school students participated, encouraging the younger generation to embrace fitness and healthy habits.
The event saw the presence of Sylhet's district commissioner, Muhammad Sher Mahbub Murad, who inspired participants to adopt healthier lifestyles. Cricketers Rejaur Rahman Raja and Tawfique Khan Tushar joined the run, amplifying the event's impact and leaving lasting memories for the community.
Local authorities, law enforcement, and educational institutions lent their strong support to make the initiative a success.
This run is part of a broader series of regional events under USAID's "Healthier in Motion: গতিতেই সুস্বাস্থ্য" campaign. The initiative aims to encourage active and healthier lifestyles while addressing critical issues like gender empowerment.
Students who participated in the event also had the chance to earn a spot in an online session conducted by professional athletes, focusing on fitness, well-being, and sports careers. Additionally, Social Marketing Company provided free electrolyte drinks for all runners, further enhancing the experience.
USAID's campaign, in partnership with organisations like Khelbei Bangladesh and Dhaka Flow, seeks to engage over 250,000 women and girls through in-person events and digital outreach.
The campaign hosts pop-up events at universities, fitness challenges, and regional activities across Bangladesh, inspiring sustainable lifestyles and health awareness in communities nationwide.
