Bangladesh win nailbiter against India clinching ODI series

Bangladesh have won the 2nd match by 5 runs against India bagging the ODI series with one match at hand. 

Despite heroic 51-run innings from injured Rohit Sharma, Bangladesh defended the 272 target posted. 

This is the second time Bangladesh has won a series against India. 

Ebadot Hossain struck again for Bangladesh picking up the wicket of Deepak Chahar. Later, Mahmudullah got the wicket of Siraj. 

Ebadot picked up 3 wickets in the match.

Shakib Al Hasan had picked up his second wicket of the match stumping Shardul Thakur out defending 272 against India.

Axar Patel, second batter who scored fifty for India in today's match, was picked up by Ebadot after he made him throw a mistimed shot for Shakib to catch.

They had lost their fifth wicket after Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged Shreyas Iyer in 35th over. 

Earlier he scored his 10th 50-run innings in ODI facing 69 balls against Bangladesh in the 2nd ODI as India steadies ship in chasing 272 in second ODI at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla national cricket stadium on Wednesday.

India needs 100 runs in 90 balls to win this match. India is ahead of Bangladesh in neck-to-neck comparison here. The pressure is slowly piling up on the Bangladesh bowlers.

Bangladesh had been picking up wickets in regular intervals before this pair.  

Shakib Al Hasan had picked up the wicket of Washington Sundar in the 10th over who scored 11 runs facing 19 deliveries. 

Bangladesh had picked up the wickets of Indian openers Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan early on in the innings. 

Kohli departed for 5 runs after pulling a delivery from pacer Ebadot Hossain onto the stumps in the second over.

In the next over, a soft dismissal sent Dhawan back to the pavilion. Mustafizur Rahman got his wicket. 

Earlier, Mehidy Hasan Miraz smashed an unbeaten 100 as Bangladesh recovered from a top-order collapse to post a total of 271/7 against India in the second ODI.

Bangladesh were 69 for 6 at one stage before Mehidy Hasan and Mahmudullah Raid added 148 runs for the seventh wicket.

Mehidy Hasan reached triple figures on the final ball of the innings, while Mahmudullah was dismissed on 77. 

Washington has been the pick of the bowlers for India with 3 wickets while Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik took two each.

Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma had to leave the field after seemingly injuring his finger while fielding in the slips. He has been sent to the hospital for an x-ray.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, Bangladesh's stand-in ODI captain Litton Das won the toss and chose to bat first against India in the second ODI at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Despite winning the first match against a full-strength India team, Bangladesh made one change to their lineup with off-spinner Nasum Ahmed coming in, in place of fast bowler Hasan Mahmud. 

India captain Rohit Sharma also revealed that there have been two changes in their lineup with off-spinning all-rounder Axar Patel and fast bowler Umran Malik coming in for Shahbaz Ahmed and Kuldeep Sen. 

Kuldeep Sen complained of back stiffness following the first ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him and advised him to rest. He was not available for selection for the 2nd ODI.

A win here gives Bangladesh back-to-back home ODI series wins against India after they won the last one in 2015.
