Dhanmondi Sports Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club both started their Dhaka Premier League campaigns with victories on 4 march, showcasing impressive performances in Mirpur and BKSP respectively.

In Mirpur, Dhanmondi clinched a four-wicket win over Brothers Union, thanks to captain Nurul Hasan Sohan's composed finish. Chasing 263, Dhanmondi reached the target with eight balls to spare, with Sohan remaining unbeaten on 58 off 53 deliveries.

Brothers Union had earlier posted 262 for 5 in 50 overs, driven by Mahfijul Islam Robin's 84 and Mizanur Rahman's 73 before retiring hurt. Kamrul Islam Rabbi was the standout bowler for Dhanmondi, picking up two wickets.

Dhanmondi started well, with Habibur Rahman Sohan contributing 32 off 30 balls. After Ashiqur Shibli's departure for 23, Fazle Mahmud Rabbi (55) and Yasir Ali (41) steadied the innings before Sohan guided his team home. Ziaur Rahman provided support with 19 not out off 24 balls. Yasin Arafat Mishu took three wickets for Brothers Union.

Meanwhile, at BKSP, Shinepukur Cricket Club secured a comprehensive 77-run victory over Partex Sporting Club. Batting first, Shinepukur set a challenging target of 299, finishing on 298 for 5.

Captain Ryan Rafsan Rahman led with 87 off 81 balls, while Anik Sarkar contributed 77. Zubair Hossain provided late fireworks, smashing an unbeaten 39 off just 14 deliveries.

Partex struggled in response, with their innings ending on 221 in 49.5 overs. Jawad Ripon top-scored with 46, while Rubel Mia added 40. Captain Sabbir Rahman managed 20 off 47 balls.

For Shinepukur, Al Fahad and Rafiuzzaman Rafi shone with the ball, each taking three wickets. Rafi's economical spell stood out as he conceded only 14 runs in his 10 overs, including a maiden.

Both Dhanmondi and Shinepukur will look to build on their strong starts as the Dhaka Premier League progresses.
