Bulbul confident of Bangladesh’s Asia Cup chances
The team departed for the tournament with hopes of clinching the title for the first time.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul has expressed optimism about the national team's prospects in the upcoming Asia Cup, saying that if the players give their all, they are capable of doing well.
The team departed for the tournament with hopes of clinching the title for the first time.
"We have the potential to make it a memorable tournament. You know it is difficult to make any prediction, especially in T20 cricket, but I am confident," Bulbul told reporters during a BCB run-scoring workshop today.
Bulbul, also a former skipper and the country's first Test centurion, believes that running between the wickets and fielding will be decisive factors.
"I think running between the wickets and fielding will be key in determining the course of the game," he said, adding that smart running and sharp fielding could give Bangladesh a significant edge.
"If we can add 15 extra runs through clever running between the wickets and save 10 more runs through tight fielding, we can effectively make 25 runs. Those 25 runs could decide the outcome of a match, especially in T20 cricket."
Bangladesh are in Group B alongside Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, and will begin their campaign against Hong Kong tomorrow (Thursday) in Abu Dhabi.
While Hong Kong are considered a relatively straightforward opponent, Bangladesh will face tougher challenges against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan have already made a flying start, thrashing Hong Kong by 94 runs.
However, Bulbul believes the conditions in Abu Dhabi will play to Bangladesh's advantage.
"In Abu Dhabi, Bangladesh might enjoy a home-like advantage. We have the skill and potential, and I am confident that if we give our best, we'll do well," he added.
