BFF urges handover of National Stadium by 22 May
The stadium has been undergoing renovation works since August 2021.

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has requested the National Sports Council (NSC) to hand over the Bangabandhu National Stadium by 22 May in preparation for Bangladesh's AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers home fixture against Singapore on 10 June.
On Sunday, AFC match commissioner Mindu Dorji inspected the country's premier venue—both during daylight hours to assess the facilities and later at night to evaluate the floodlights and the giant screen.
The stadium has been undergoing renovation works since August 2021.
Following the inspection, BFF executive committee member Kamrul Hasan Hilton addressed the media.
"The AFC representative was satisfied with the overall outlook of the stadium. However, there were a few minor observations regarding the match commissioner's room, the dope test room, and the dressing rooms. The major concerns, however, were the pitch and the floodlights," said Hilton.
"Officials from the National Sports Council were also present, and we held a meeting with the AFC official. We have given them a deadline of 10 May to complete the renovation of the floodlights, and 22 May to finish work on the pitch and the remaining infrastructure," he added.
