BFF election: Nomination papers available from 9 October

On Monday afternoon, Chief Election Commissioner Mezbah Uddin announced the schedule at the BFF building. Nomination papers will be available from 9 October and can be collected until 12 October. The papers can be collected daily from 10 am to 5 pm.

BFF election: Nomination papers available from 9 October

The schedule for the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) executive committee elections has been announced. On Monday afternoon, Chief Election Commissioner Mezbah Uddin announced the schedule at the BFF building. Nomination papers will be available from 9 October and can be collected until 12 October. The papers can be collected daily from 10 am to 5 pm.

The nomination paper for the president's position has been priced at 100,000 BDT. The senior vice-president's nomination will cost 75,000 BDT, while the vice-president's nomination will cost 50,000 BDT, and the general member nomination is priced at 25,000 BDT. The submission dates for nomination papers are set for 14 and 15 October.

Scrutiny will be done on 16 October. The final deadline for withdrawal of nominations is from the morning of 19 October until 2 pm on 20 October. Any objections to the nominations can be submitted on 17 October, with a fee of 50,000 BDT for the objector.

The final list of candidates will be published on 20 October. The election for the BFF executive committee will be held on 26 October. Voting will take place from 2 pm to 6 pm at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka. The results will be announced after the vote count is completed. The BFF executive committee consists of 20 positions in total, including the president, one senior vice-president, three vice-presidents, and 15 executive members.

Kazi Salahuddin, who has held the position of BFF president for four consecutive terms, has stated that he will not contest this election. Tabith Awal and Tarafdar Ruhul Amin have both announced their candidacy for the BFF presidency. The final voter list has already been published. A total of 137 applications were submitted to vote, with 133 being approved after verification.

A total of 133 councillors will be eligible to vote in the BFF election. These include councillors from 8 divisional football associations, 58 district football associations, 10 Premier League clubs, 5 Bangladesh Championship League clubs, 18 first-division clubs, 8 second-division clubs, 8 third-division clubs, 4 top women's league teams, 6 universities, and 5 education boards. Additionally, the referees' association, coaches' association, and women's sports association will each have one vote.
