Sorry state of Fatullah Stadium brought tears to my eyes: BCB President Bulbul
"This Narayanganj is an idol for us. Cricket has a long history here," says the BCB chief.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul has said that the current deplorable condition of the Fatullah Stadium in Narayanganj has shocked him and brought tears to his eyes.
"This Narayanganj is an idol for us. Cricket has a long history here. When I used to play cricket, I had a very good relationship with Narayanganj. Various leagues were held here. Players from different clubs in Narayanganj would move on to play in Dhaka.
"Even now, seeing the enthusiasm for cricket here makes me happy," he said while addressing an event, titled "Cricket Development and Ideas", organised by COAB and the District Sports Association at the Narayanganj District Sports Complex today (24 August).
The BCB president said, "Before coming here, I went to the Fatullah Stadium. Its deplorable condition brought tears to my eyes. Countless national and international matches used to be held there."
"Our players need more facilities. There are three wickets at present, but our plan is to build at least 20 wickets. Now cricket is played 12 months a year. Alongside facilities for the players, we also need to improve the coaching staff.
"The Tamims and Shakibs of the future will emerge from here. We also intend to build an indoor stadium in Narayanganj, so that the cricketers can always remain engaged with the game," he said.
Among others present at the event were BCB Director Nazmul Abedin Fahim, Narayanganj district's Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam Mia, Additional Deputy Commissioner Alomgir Hossain, CCDM Senior Vice-President Masuduzzaman Masud, COAB Narayanganj President Zakaria Imtiaz, General Secretary Shahriar Hossain Bidyut, district sports association members Sabit Al Hasan, Nur Jamal Hasan, Golam Gaus, and others.
