Bangladesh secured their fourth T20 International win over Pakistan with a dominant performance in Mirpur today, clinching victory in the first match of the series by 7 wickets and with 27 balls to spare. Jaker Ali sealed the win by hitting Salman Mirza for a boundary on the third ball of the 16th over.
Jaker remained unbeaten on 15 off 10 balls, while opener Parvez Hossain scored an unbeaten 56 off 39 balls—his third 50-plus score in T20 internationals.
Previously, Bangladesh had defeated Pakistan in Mirpur during a series in 2015 and again in the 2016 Asia Cup. Additionally, they beat Pakistan in the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games to secure the bronze medal.
The second match of the series will also take place in Mirpur, on Tuesday.
In terms of wickets remaining and balls unused, this is Bangladesh's biggest T20 win over Pakistan. The previous best was also a 7-wicket win in Mirpur in 2015, but with 22 balls to spare—five fewer than today.
