Batting collapse leaves Bangladesh facing certain defeat
Bangladesh were staring at an inevitable defeat following a dramatic batting collapse that left them reeling at 105 for 8 after just 21 overs, in pursuit of Sri Lanka's 245-run total in the opening match of the three-match ODI series in Colombo.
The Tigers were well-placed at 100 for 1 in the 17th over, with Tanzid Tamim and Najmul Hossain Shanto both looking settled at the crease. However, Shanto's run-out midway through the over sparked a collapse that saw seven wickets tumble for just five runs in the space of 26 deliveries.
Tanzid, who had reached 62 off 60 balls, was dismissed in the following over.
