Bangladesh cruise past Pakistan to reach SAFF U-17 final
Captain Nazmul Huda Faisal and Opu Rahman struck in quick succession inside the opening four minutes to secure Bangladesh’s third consecutive appearance in the regional youth championship final, knocking Pakistan out at the semi-final stage for the third successive edition.

Bangladesh booked their place in the final of the SAFF U-17 Championship with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Pakistan in the first semi-final at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo today.

Two-time champions Bangladesh will face the winners of the other semi-final between India and Nepal, scheduled for later this evening, in the title decider on 27 September.
Golam Rabbani Choton's side, who had registered two emphatic wins in the group stage without conceding, carried their momentum into the semi-final. Their early goals left Pakistan reeling, and despite flashes of pace and individual skill, the men in green never recovered against a well-drilled Bangladeshi outfit that maintained their defensive discipline to preserve a perfect clean-sheet record in the tournament.
