Big-hitting Windies opener Chris Gayle believes Bangladesh are doing better in cricket than the Windies in international cricket.

"They are doing better than us in international cricket. But Bangladesh should be more consistent by winning more games and series. For them, it is important to work with the next set of players and work with these players as well. Then actually you can build a team and give yourself a chance like what England did leading into the World Cup. England had a 4-year plan and they won the World Cup," Gayle told the media in Dhaka on Thursday.

Gayle was also asked about whether Bangladesh should be touring Pakistan in the series scheduled after the BPL: "They say that Pakistan is the safest country right now in the World. They say they will give presidential security so you are in good hands."
The left handed opener has only played one game in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) this season after coming in late due to other commitments but he's enjoying playing for Chattogram Challengers so far.
"Most of the guys I have played with and most of the guys I have played against. We are teammates now and the team is doing well. The guys are playing wonderful cricket because they are top of the table. For me, it's just about fitting in and making my impact when I get a chance in the second game," he added.
The batsman who likes to be called 'Universe Boss' is next targeting the T20 World Cup to be played in Australia later this year: "It will be nice to play in the T20 World Cup. The door is open and let's see what happens. We have some youngsters opening and I'll leave the options open to have the 'Universe Boss' at the world cup."
Gayle also spoke about how long he'd like to play and he believes that he can play cricket till 45.
"A lot of people want to see Chris Gayle in the middle. I still have that love for the game and the passion for the game. I have a lot to offer and the body is feeling good. Let's target 45; 45 is a good number. I think my first jersey number was 45 so five more years," he concluded.
