Warfaze unveils new single Girgiti ahead of first ever UK tour
After a 14-year drought of original studio material, heavy metal pioneers Warfaze have returned with a brand-new single, 'Girgiti'. The release not only offers the first glimpse into their highly anticipated eighth studio album but also coincides with the veteran rockers gearing up for their first-ever tour of the United Kingdom.
Dropped on Monday via Loyy Records' YouTube channel, 'Girgiti' delivers the signature heavy sound fans have been waiting for. Taking full advantage of their current triple-guitar lineup, the track features blistering arpeggios and intricate harmonies driven by Samir Hafiz and Soumen Das.
Written by Shams Mansoor Ghani and KM Imranul Haque Ritul, the song also doubles as the title track for Sourav Kundu's upcoming feature film, starring ABM Sumon and Purnima Bristi. While the movie has faced production delays since 2019, UPStudio Production House recently hosted a joint launch event in Dhaka to celebrate the musical release.
Despite dropping the lead single, the band is keeping the upcoming album's title under wraps. Drummer and band leader Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu explained that they traditionally wait until every track is finished before naming a record.
In the meantime, the band is packing their bags for a historic milestone. Leaving Dhaka tomorrow, Warfaze will embark on their debut UK tour. The trip includes a headlining slot at the Bangla Fest and Awards UK at London's Royal Regency on 19 July.
When they return on 23 July, the momentum will not slow down. The group is slated to headline 'Playlist: Tribute to Originals', a massive Michael Jackson tribute concert at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre on 2 August.
This flurry of activity caps off a monumental 2026 for the group. Celebrating 42 years of shaping the local hard rock scene, Warfaze was recently awarded the prestigious Ekushey Padak and secured a global collaboration with the iconic brand Zippo, proving their enduring grip on the country's musical pulse.
