Tarek Amin brings Bangladeshi vision to London solo show

Award-winning Bangladeshi artist Tarek Amin is set to unveil his second solo exhibition in the UK at the Spitalfields Gallery from 20-27 June 2025. Organised by the East London Academy of Art, the exhibition marks a significant international moment for the National Award-winning artist, whose distinctive style has garnered critical acclaim at home and abroad.
Amin will showcase over 60 original pieces, including woodcut, etching, aquatint, acrylic, and mixed media works. The collection offers an immersive exploration of the artist's creative evolution, inviting viewers into a world shaped by sensory, symbolic, and temporal dimensions.
"I'm thrilled to present my latest work in London," said Amin. "This city's diverse artistic energy inspires me, and I look forward to connecting with audiences here."
British artist Frederick Jones praised Amin's woodcut figures as "sensuous, sensory, suspended in a space that blurs the lines between architecture, abstraction, and symbolism."
The exhibition opens on Thursday, 20 June at 6 PM, followed by daily public viewings from 10 AM to 5 PM. It's a rare chance for London audiences to experience the work of one of South Asia's most compelling contemporary voices.
