Spider-Man Brand New Day trailer unveiled as Tom Holland swings back into the MCU
The movie is expected to serve as the final solo-led chapter in the MCU’s Phase 6 before the focus shifts to larger ensemble projects like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was released today (18 March), marking the return of Tom Holland as Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after his last appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The upcoming instalment, scheduled to hit theatres on 31 July, introduces a mix of street-level grit and larger MCU connections, with Jon Bernthal making his film debut as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo returning as the Hulk, and Michael Mando reprising his role as Scorpion.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, while longtime Spider-Man writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers return to script the story.
This will be the first of Holland's Spider-Man films not helmed by Jon Watts.
Filming wrapped in December 2025, and the movie is expected to serve as the final solo-led chapter in the MCU's Phase 6 before the focus shifts to larger ensemble projects like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
The story appears to lean into a grounded tone, featuring villains such as Tombstone and Scorpion, while still tying into the wider superhero world.
