Popular actor Siam Ahmed joined the protest rally of the visual artists today (1 August) to show solidarity with the quota reform protesters.

His video from the protest march went viral on social media platforms.

"If you are a normal person you won't be able to go to sleep, I can still hear the words of one of the students who was giving everyone water," he said to journalists during the rally.

He added they work in the entertainment industry for the people of the country, not for an individual person.

"The young people are our main audience, if we don't stand by them, then what are we even doing?" the actor added.

"I have a son of my own and after ten years when he'll ask me what I did back then, I want to tell him proudly that I tried to do something," he said.

He further said that he was standing by the students.

Sabila Nur, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Azmeri Haque Badhon and many other prominent members of the industry also were present during the protest.

Expressing solidarity with the students protesting for quota reform, the visual media artists' community held a protest today and rallied in support of the nine demands put forth by the students.

They took position in front of Farmgate's Ananda Cinema Hall at 11:30am.
